Saratoga Springs Resort Review

Having a large family means that we often do not fit into a regular sized hotel room. There are many Disney hotels that cannot accommodate a family of five or larger. We usually stay on property at a place like the Yacht Club or the Boardwalk Resort because they offer a couch that folds into a bed. Also, because they offer a military discount and we are a military family.

On our most recent trip, though, we had my parents meeting us, which meant we either needed to get two rooms or find a bigger place to stay. After doing a little research I found out that you can book condos at Disney World. There are several Disney hotels that are actually condos! We picked a two-bedroom condo at Disney’s Saratoga Springs for us al to stay in together.

Our room was a two bedroom with two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a laundry room, and a patio. There was a pack-n-play crib in one of the closets and a highchair. We do not have a baby, but if my sister had come with my niece then we would have been all set! At many places in Orlando you will end up having to pay extra for items like a highchair and pack-n-play. At Saratoga Springs it was automatically included.

The master bedroom was over sized with a king size bed and sitting chair, a jacuzzi tub, separate shower and walk in closet. The second bedroom featured two queen beds, a table with two chairs, a night stand, two closets, and a flat screen TV.

The second bedroom had two queen beds in it and a table with two chairs. The second bathroom is in the second bedroom. The bathroom had a bath tub and double sinks. There were two closets in this bedroom.

The living room had a TV, couch that folded out into a queen size bed and a sitting chair. We also had a patio just outside the living room with two chairs and a little table. The bed that the couch made into was not your typical sleeper sofa. Instead of one of those awful mattresses that have springs that dig into your back it was three separate pieces that were more like cushions. It’s hard to explain, but it was much better.

The small kitchen was fully stocked with everything: stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, plates, etc…. Upon request they would deliver a mixer or other items.

Paddock Pool at Saratoga Springs

The swimming pool next to our condo was the Paddock pool. There is a pool side cafe located here, The Paddock Grill, that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, regular drinks, beer, wine, and cocktails. We had dinner and breakfast here and both were excellent and reasonably priced. We also bought one of the refillable mugs. For $16.95 plus tax you can get a Disney refillable club. It can be refilled at any of the Disney World hotels with cold and hot drinks, like soda, tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

  • 146-foot-long waterslide/body slide
  • horseshoe-shaped whirlpool spa
  • zero-depth entry point into the pool
  • 2 miniature waterslides built just for kids
  • Daily pool parties and activities lead by Disney Cast Members.

There were three other pools located at this resort, including a much larger pool at the main area. Each of the pools have multiple lifeguards on duty from open to close.

I should mention that this Disney Property is part of the Disney Vacation Club, which is a timeshare. We do not own a Disney timeshare, but have a timeshare in Vegas and were able to trade through RCI. Because I booked through RCI I had to pay a $95 fee at check in. If you are booking nightly the rates average around $600 a night. This may seems horribly expensive, but when you thin what it would have cost us to book two rooms at another Disney hotel it’s about the same. Only at a regular hotel we would have had a kitchen and washer and dryer.
