Want to book fastpasses, make dining reservations, link MagicBands and more all in one place? Disney makes it easy! Download the My Disney Experience mobile app as soon as you start planning your Disney Vacation. You can use the app to make managing your plans inside the park a breeze!

TravelingMom Tip: My Disney Experience app is only used for a Walt Disney World vacation. You will need to download the Disneyland app for a Disneyland vacation.

Booking Fastpasses

You can use the app to make your Fastpass+ selections. You choose which park you’re planning to visit and what time you want to book the Fastpass. For more information and details on how to book Fastpass+ experiences, check out this post on Everything You Need to Know About FastPass+ at Disney World

Make Dining Reservations

Booking dining reservation inside the park or at the resorts is super easy using the My Disney Experience app. Just log in and see the available dining times at your favorite Disney restaurants. Once you’ve made the reservation, you will see it listed under “My Plans” in the app.

    Open Your Resort Room Door

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you can use the app to open your Disney resort hotel room. You no longer have to dig around for a key card; with one push of a button your room door will be unlocked. You won’t appreciate how handy this is until you’ve had a long day in the parks, and you use the app to get into your room as quickly as you can!

    See Current Ride Wait Times

This has to be one of my favorite features of the My Disney Experience app. You can see the current wait times at the rides you’re planning visit. We use this feature to make the best use of our time inside the Disney parks. We watch the wait times and plan accordingly. I think every theme park should have this feature in an app!

    See Your PhotoPass Photos

There are so many PhotoPass photo opportunities, whether you’re getting your photos taken with cast members or the camera captures your picture on your favorite ride. You can check out all of these photos on the app.

Tip: If you’re interested in downloading digital copies of your Photopass photo then you should purchase the Memory Maker.

    Purchase Park Tickets

Did you know that you can purchase Disney park tickets from inside the app? We added an extra park day to our Disney Vacation on my last trip to Walt Disney World and I was able to make the purchase through the My Disney Experience app. It immediately showed up in my account.

Tip: Even though you can purchase Disney tickets through the app, when purchasing two or more days, we recommend purchasing your Disney tickets through Get Away Today. Not only does the company have the lowest prices, it offers a best price guarantee. If you ever find park tickets cheaper, Get Away Today won’t just match the price, the company will beat it. If you call to make your purchase be sure to mention TravelingMom!

See Park Hours and Show Times

It’s important to know what the park hours are each day. You’re also going to want to know the times of things like fireworks and parades. You can see all of this from inside the app. Just look under “Today’s Showtimes” for each park on the home screen. If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you can also see the daily extra magic hours schedule.

    Link MagicBands

Use the app to link your Disney MagicBands. We think MagicBands are must on your Disney Vacation. Read more about them here. You can also link credit cards to your MagicBand through the app, making it easy to make purchases when your visiting the parks.

    Mobile Ordering

You’re going to be standing in a lot of lines but if you’re using the mobile ordering (available on the app), then you won’t have to stand in the quick service food lines. While you’re waiting to get on a ride, make your meal selection at the quick service restaurant you plan to visit. Once you arrive, hit the “I’m here prepare my order” button and you’ll get an order number. There is a special area for mobile orders to be picked up at. Using mobile ordering saves so much time and we highly recommend it!

TravelingMom Tip: Did you know that there are secret menu items at some restaurants that can only be ordered through mobile ordering on the app?! We get the hint Disney, you want us to use the app and the mobile ordering feature!

    Invite Friends and Family

You can use the app to link your kids to your account and you can even link to other adults who are traveling with you. This is something you should do if you plan to book fastpasses and dining reservations all together!

The My Disney Experience app allows you to plan your trip and make the most of your time, all with a few keystrokes. It’s a must-have planning tool whenever you go to Disney World – whether you’re staying on property or not!

The My Disney Experience app is a time-saving way to enhance your Walt Disney World vacation.
