Romantic travel for Valentines dayWhile Valentine’s Day clearly marks February as the designated month of romance, escaping for a few days alone with your sweetheart any time of year is always a good reason to nurture and celebrate your relationship. Just ask Traveling Mom Kim-Marie Evans, who recently rekindled her 15-year marriage on an ultra-romantic getaway to Costa Rica (see below).

Fifteen years and four children later, Luxury TravelingMom (Kim-Marie Evans) and her husband took afternoon naps, frolicked on the beach and engaged in deep conversations during their three-night romance getaway at the Four Seasons in Costa Rica. “We haven’t acted this gooby in love in years. Nothing says sexy time like sleeping with the windows open to the chirping birds, no children in the bed and no reason to get up other than to make your paddle boarding date,” she says.

Amie O’Shaughnessy of CiaoBambino.com says that when she and hubby get a chance to go on a romantic outing, they seek special experiences, such as sleeping in a geodesic tent (pod) perched on the side of a mountain in the Alps. Whitepod, an eco-luxury getaway in Switzerland, features a wood stove, a cozy bed, and a real bathroom. “I loved my hubby even more than usual after he stoked our fire all night long,” says O’Shaughnessy.
