The cast of the hit comedy series “Modern Family” went on vacation to Australia because Phil Dunphy (played by Ty Burrell) wanted to fulfill his mom’s final wish for him to return to his roots and visit the country where he was conceived. While the vacation was a series of mishaps, bringing laughs at Phil’s expense, the scenery and sights were amazing.
Wondering where the cast filmed footage for the episode? Here’s the scoop!
Sydney Harbour Bridge
The Dunphy family climbed the bridge and stood on top of this amazing tourist attraction. The top is called the Pylon Lookout. It takes 200 stairs to get there and it is 87 metres above mean sea level.
Dawes Point Park
A grassy area that sits underneath the the southern pylon of Sydney Harbour Bridge on Dawes Point. The entire family filmed here.
Great Barrier Reef
When the family got it together, stopped working and enjoyed the gorgeous country of Australia, we saw them at the Great Barrier Reef, located along the Queensland Coast in Australia. Swimming, snorkeling, diving and sailing are fun activities that take place here.
Sydney’s Allphone Arena
The “Modern Family”cast saw Bruce Springsteen in concert here while visiting the country.
The hilarious beach scenes with Manny and Luke searching for topless women took place at this famous beach. This is a hot spot in Sydney, making the beautiful ocean and sand worth seeing once you get past the crowds.
