When it comes to finding military lodging in Oahu, Hawaii your possibilities are endless. Last month I went over the lodging at Bellows AFB, but that was just one of the military hotels we stayed at. We also stayed on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Staying on Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam on the Pearl side was great. Although not a glamorous hotel, the location was awesome. You could easily walk to the Pearl Harbor Memorial from lodging.
The room had one bed, a chair and a desk. The bathroom had a shower only. The mattress on the bed was even good. Until staying here, I’d never actually slept on a bed at a military lodge that was comfortable.
Wifi was available, free, and it actually worked.
The rooms have a Keurig B145 OfficePRO Brewing System and they provide tons of coffee pods for it daily. There was a little fridge and a microwave too.
Across the street from lodging was a large shoppette. There you could get food, souvenirs, alcohol, and more. Attached to the shoppette was an equipment rental shop where you can get a snorkel, boogie board, or anything else you might need. Also within walking distance is a McDonalds, Subway, Taco Del Mar, tennis courts, and the brand new gym.
