Disneyland is celebrating its 60th birthday with a Diamond Celebration that will dazzle and delight guests. Beginning on May 22, 2015, Disneyland guests can expect to see some new features around the park and special shows between both California Adventure Park and Disneyland.  A Diamond Celebration certainly calls for sparkle so expect to see the Disneyland Resort and the park decorated with festive banners in the trademark Disneyland blue hues as you walk your way to these Diamond entertainment shows.

The Disney Parks are known for their stunning parades and the Diamond Celebration at Disneyland Resort will continue this tradition with new technology and creativity in this night show. Main Street, U.S.A., will be lit with more than 1.5 million LED lights that bring our favorite Disney stories to life. I don’t know about you, but  our entire family loves watching the lights flash as we find the Disney character in the glow of the lights.

The Diamond Celebration gives Mickey Mouse a chance to use his imagination – and a little pixie dust – to “Paint the Night” with special guest appearances by some of our favorite characters including “Monsters, Inc.,” “Cars,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Toy Story” and “Frozen.”

“World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney”

World of Color is one of our favorite shows at the Disneyland Resort; it is magical each and every time to watch our favorite Disney movies and characters come to life on the water.  During the Diamond Celebration at Disneyland, the World of Color show will be be all new, but just as amazing as it honors the man himself, Walt Disney, and his Disney dreams. His dreams have inspired billions each and every year. I can only imagine how inspirational the story will be when told through “World of Color – Celebrate!”

“Disneyland Forever” Fireworks Show

Visible from various areas in Disney including Main Street, U.S.A, the Disneyland Resort will enhance their traditional fireworks show to bring Disney stories to life in even more ways than before. Disney has installed the largest projection mapping technology found in a Disney Park in Disneyland. From the sample we saw at the press event, it will have the ability to transport us deeper into our favorite movies and stories. Guests can expect to be entranced by The Jungle Book and a flight over London with characters from Peter Pan“Disneyland Forever” will extend into It’s a Small World, Rivers of America and the Matterhorn.

Sleeping Beauty’s Sparkling Castle

Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disneyland Park is iconic for all of us; our family has a special place in our hearts for the castle because we were lucky enough to spend a night in Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World. Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is at the heart of Disneyland and will glisten and gleam for this special Diamond Celebration.  If you visit Disneyland now you may even see the Imagineers adding their magical touch to make it ready for the celebration.
