wallaby-ranch-orlandoOrlando is a perfect spot for a vacation regardless of your age. But as our moms pointed out, there’s more than Mickey Mouse in the sunny city. That’s why we devoted our May 14 Monday Night Twitter Party to Orlando travel.Our tweeters gave their must-see attractions, tips for newcomers and what they love to do besides Disney World.

What’s your must-see Orlando attraction?

@DanielleLeitch: Club Floor @RC_ORLANDO and their Spa and @NormansNewWorld

@GeekDad248: Animal Kingdom.

@kimorlando: Now its IFly – skydiving indoors

@n210ss: Universal Studios!!!

@DebMomOf3: Definitely Disney World – but my 9yo’s must-see is @SeaWorld because she loves dolphins!

What is the right age to take kids to Orlando?

@familytravel4um: 2.5+ years can do toddler things; go slow though, very tiring!

@nikki2kids: Not sure what the right age is, mine were 10 and 12.

@judy511: 3 to infinity.

@LuxuryTravelMom: I usually wait until 4, so they remember.

@Leighbra: Is there a wrong age? Other than possibly infants, there’s something for literally everyone in Orlando.

When is a good time to @VISITORLANDO? Why?

@LLLSummer: I would say best time is January through April.

@SamanthaDamit: CHRISTMAS! Simply amazing!

@LuxuryTravelMom: Week before Thanksgiving, small lines at Disney

@mellanhead: I would say spring/fall when it is not so hot outside.

@SweepinPoodle: I like the end of May, warm but not too crowded with most kids still in school.

What do first time visitors need to know when they @VISITORLANDO?

@dreamfishing: I tried to squeeze too much into our trip. Would take it easier next time

?@mivalle: Plan ahead, plan ahead, plan ahead – tons to do, busy restaurants, fast passes at Disney!

@DanielleLeitch: Make your dining reservations EARLY for the park! Also check @RC_ORLANDO rates as they are often less than onside hotels and WAAY nicer

@OnlyMe3074: Watch out for those “bogus” “scam” places offering discounted attraction prices!

@abbebrown: Research toll costs, parking, everything before you get here.

@misaacmom: I wish someone told us about how the fast passes worked at Disney – we figured it out our last day.

What can you do with teens when you @VISITORLANDO?

@SweetmatchaJail: Ride the roller coasters or just enjoy great food and nightlife!

@WorldTravelMom: Universal, Racing School, Downtown Disney

@SamanthaDamit: SHOPPING AND RIDES! My daughter had a blast! Most fun age for Disney! She’s 16.

@miasinc: CityWalk at Universal is good, also the Water Parks.

@busyVAmom: We live close to Busch Gardens & I ride rides with my 14yr old that she likes to ride like coasters.

What would you want to do other than the theme parks?

@Tink4everbell: Walk around and SHOP! Take pictures.

@allierose: Head to a beach!

@makingourfamily: Swimming is the boys favorite but also like miniature golf. Great one at universal studios.

@kjmaje: Dine at some nice restaurants!

@abbebrown: Golfing-so many great courses around

@OnlyMe3074: Concerts!!! I saw Tom Petty last weekend at the Amway Center in Orlando!
