On June 17th we gathered for our weekly twitter party to discuss travel upgrades. We talked about what was most important to us, how our sponsor Sheraton had club amenities that could help, and what upgrades we never regret. Couldn’t join us? Read on to join the conversation.
WHAT HOTEL AMENITIES DO YOU FIND CONTRIBUTE TO A RELAXING STAY?
@Leighbra I JUST today booked my 1st Sheraton Club stay, in Seattle. Free drinks? Hors d’oeuvres? Breakfast? WiFi? YES please!
@techsavvymama I LOVE fab bathroom amenities too! Sometimes I’ll check out what brands hotels have before I check in!
@tibstravel View? Hotel once asked me: “Sunrise view, or sunset? Nice dilemma eh?
@yolirealtor Dark curtains are also appreciated!
@ficklefeline I am BITTER if I have to pay for wifi!!
@SavvyMommy I love it when hotels do special things for kids. Makes the stay memorable for them.
@childmode My husband is a big balcony lover. It’s almost an all or nothing for him!
@techmama I like having shipping office on site, nice health club & club floor great amenities.
WHY SHOULD MOM ADD AN UPGRADE FOR HERSELF ON VACATION?
@blondefabulous Hey, it’s Mom! Cleaner of messes! Fixer of last minute blow ups! She DESERVES an upgrade!
@ramblingstump a) you deserve it b) your family deserves a more relaxed you c) if you don’t do it who will?
@childmode A happy mom = a happy family = a better vacation.
@ficklefeline Next trip I’m flying 1st class, family can fly coach!
@leighbra Because Mom scrimps & saves every dang day at home, that’s why. 😉
@MariFarthing Because that’s what makes it a “vacay!!”
@Indyanna63 Why? Because moms do so much for everyone else that she deserves to be pampered!
@Momsanitytweets Because no one else will! And it’s good to show our kids that we all deserve to be treated well.

@mmc67 Travel as a family is a big splurge for us. I try to get a nice place with a pool.
@TheeJuliette Activities! Snorkeling or tour great to enjoy the views. Also room service.
HOW CAN A HOTEL MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER ON VACATION?
@go2kauai A great concierge. I like to explore the area I’m visiting and love information.
@adamsommer Free airport transportation (or at least offer for a fee) and simply being cheerful!
@kamrynadams Kids club with evening hours.
@SavvyMommy I think a mini-fridge is awesome. Surprised not all rooms have them.
@Globe_Guide Highlights of a good hotel: Free internet, robes and helpful staff armed with maps.
@HaroldBanks2 Easy Check-in and check-out and good pillows.
@Leighbra The desk staff can make or break a hotel stay for me. They set the tone.
@KamrynAdams Laundry before I depart.
@DeLovely_M0MMA2 For my infant love when they have a crib option! Makes things SO much easier.
@mommy3sons Having great employees that are caring and very helpful

@RecchiaChristin Direct flights!
@MsChick74 Suite at hotels or first class on airlines…depends on price though!
@JazzyTJan All inclusive. I am willing to pay for all inclusive plans.

@childmode I’ll pay “extra” for packages that add value or services that would otherwise cost me more if purchased separately.
@CindyRichards I’ll pay for the view. No point in being at the ocean but looking out over the parking lot.
@childmode Warm welcomes, friendly service and good wifi (I know, I’ve said that before).
