October 24 #TMOM Twitter Party – Ski Season Planning!

Since I grew up in South Jersey, ski season meant only one thing to me – the Poconos. It was a winter wonderland in Pennsylvania, and we loved skiing and sledding down the snowy hills.

“That’s not real skiing,” my husband – he of the the New England winters – informed me when we planned our honeymoon. “More like bunny slopes.” He was used to the challenges of New Hampshire….but admitted that even those slopes paled in the shadow of the majestic mountains out west.

If the “shush shush” of a downhill glide is part of your travel plans, you’re in good company.  The United States is home to more than 450 ski resorts, and the National Ski Areas Association reports that 53.6 million visits were made to these areas for snow sports, including skiing, snowboarding and sledding, during the 2014-15 season.

But planning a ski trip isn’t as easy as grabbing your boots and bindings and heading for the hills. You need to research lift ticket prices, check the reputation of lessons for your newbie skiers, and consider the other activities offered at the resort.

And of course, you need to keep your eye on the weather. I know this one personally – thanks to that late January ski honeymoon my husband planned. Unfortunately, that winter was unseasonably warm, so we ended up spending more time indoors than out. Okay for a honeymoon, but not ideal for those who are really hoping to be schussing through the vacation.

So how do you plan a successful ski vacation? That’s what we’re talking about during the nest #TMOM Twitter party on October 24 at 7 p.m. Whether you’re an expert skier who comes alive on extreme slopes or a newcomer to the sport, we can help you find the right place, choose the right equipment and identify the right conditions to make your ski vacation a dream come true.

Please join in on the fun on October 24 at our #TMOM Twitter Party, all about ski season planning. Don’t miss out on the fun this winter – hit the party, then hit the slopes.
