The New York Auto Show has something for everyone. Whether it is concept cars, family friendly mini vans, or immersive experiences- the auto show is something that every woman should experience, with or without her family. We took a walk down memory lane and chatted about our first cars, what we look for in a car and our commute ahead of the auto show.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR? WHY DID YOU CHOOSE IT?

@tarametblog My 1st car was a Honda Accord w/ over 100k miles. It was my mom’s old car and she got a new one when I started driving.

@xoxoLizza My first car was a MANUAL white convertible Saab!! I was 16 &loved the color & the feeling you can only get driving stick!

@bobettacj A 1970 Toyota Corolla….isn’t that great? Oh yeah, it was orange…

@DebMomof3 Chose it (Ford Escort) because it was priced right and looked reliable. Had a sunroof too, which I thought was way cool.

@whitneygonzalez My first car was a Mitsubishi Eclipse! Present from my dad.

@SusanLStorey 1994 2 door Pontiac Sunbird- w/ sunroof. I couldn’t afford the Firebird! Loved that car for 7 years.

@TibsTravel Hubs first car was 1939 Plymouth, huge vehicle, stick shift of course. He was 16 in 1952. Paid $400.

OTHER THAN PRICE, WHAT IS YOUR TOP DECISION MAKING FACTOR WHEN BUYING A CAR?

@ConnieFoggles Did you know w/ a new car you can get mobility assistance? We got a ramp for my scooter.

@ramblingstump FILs golden retriever rides on the floor in front of the front passenger. Looks for room there.

@xoxoLizza Other than price, MPG AND design R important 2 me when buying a car.I’m in one 4 so much of my day, need 2 totally love it!

@primetimeparent I want a car that is the greenest and safest for my family to travel in.

@DebMomof3 Price is always top factor right now, but after that, how family-friendly it is. Oddly enough, I love driving minivans

@BeckyAdventure How EASY it is to clean! We are too busy for high maintenance vehicles!

@sweetmatcha I want a minivan that’ll be easy to drive + have huge trunk space too.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT AT THE @NYAutoShow? DO YOU HAVE A BUCKETLIST?

@strollerincity Looking forward to seeing all the new SUVs.

@TibsTravel Interested in new hybrids with expanded trunk space . Elder road trippers need trunks for mobility devices.

@ScottyReiss Excited to see cars that make my heart race & teach my kids to be car people.

@MomMostTraveled I really like the cute new four door Fiat!

IS THE STYLE OF YOUR CAR AS IMPORTANT AS IT’S PERFORMANCE? WHY?

@bobettacj My husband always tells me I get too emotionally attached to my cars. I even name them…lol.

@MomMostTraveled Yes and no, I have had a car or 2 that looked great and performed like crap!

@MaryHeston According to @ceciliaheston most important feature in a car is the Sound System.

WHAT IS THE COOLEST CAR YOU’VE EVER DRIVEN?

@philatravelgirl I did a nascar ride along as passenger on track -next time I want to do the race school and drive myself!

@LeauraLuciano Off-roading in a tricked out truck was pretty cool!

@kimorlando Coolest car I’ve ever driven: my BFFs brand new blue Camaro with T Tops en route to the lake (in 1981).

HOW LONG IS YOUR COMMUTE & WHAT AUTO SAFETY FEATURES KEEP YOU SANE & FOCUSED?

@primetimeparent I have a short commute but when we travel far I never go anywhere without my GPS set.

@AdventurousMoms The car seat connections, the hands-free bluetooth for the phone/radio… short commute 25 min.

@DebMomof3 I work from home so no commute. Am kid chauffeur lots of times though! Glad for ABS for sure in winter months.

@SavvyMomNYC I love my back up camera for safety. My commute is about 15 minutes!

@mulysa32 No commute here. Stay at home mom…Unless u count the 4 miles I drive to the high school everyday!
