Compared to other nations that date back to times B.C., the United States may seem like a new country. But the USA turns 240 years old next month. How much of it have you seen? We are a country rich in history, in culture, and in patriotism. With the Olympics coming up and the elections approaching, this might just be the best time to get to know your country – and fall in love with it all over again! Come see the USA – and chat with us about it at the next #TMOM Twitter Party on June 27, with a Ricardo Luggage giveaway.

June 27 #TMOM Twitter Party –  SEE THE USA  with Ricardo Luggage Giveaway

Okay, let’s start with a confession – I have never been out of the country. My husband has an extensively-used passport. Me? A couple of bus tokens, some left over days on an old Disney ticket, and a dozen or so completed Junior Ranger books.

But that’s not a complaint. I love this country, and exploring the USA from coast to coast is an adventure to me. I may have not visited Paris, but I’ve rubbed elbows with the French Creoles in New Orleans.

I may never roam the coliseum in Rome, but I’ve walked the Freedom Trail in Boston.  I may never see the Georgian Courts of Hampton, but I’m a frequent visitor to Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where old King George’s mandates were overturned and a new country was born.

I still dream of foreign travel. That’s what a bucket list is all about, right? But as for me, I want to see the USA – all of it! And as the fourth of July approaches, I can’t think of any better place to go than to the historic and patriotic sites that tell our country’s story. I’ve already heard so many stories. But there’s still a lot to learn.

Fortunately for me – and you! – the Traveling Mom network of writers have covered this country coast to coast. They’ve uncovered the secrets of Savannah, GA; they’ve traveled the badlands of South Dakota. And in their travel stories, they’ve told me of this country’s vast history. From the Hermitage in Nashville to the crossroads of America in Chicago; from the historical markers throughout the country to our nation’s capital in DC, we have truly been there. And we’re anxious to share all about at the next #TMOM Twitter party, all about the patriotic and historic sites in the USA.

So mark your calendar for Monday, June 27 – right in time for the Fourth of July. That’s when we’ll be celebrating our country’s 240th birthday with our #TMOM Twitter Party – See the USA! And if you’re lucky, you may even win a beautiful travel bag from Ricardo luggage. Just the thing to pack up and head out for your next big adventure – right here within our own borders.
