July 25 #TMOM Twitter Party – Free on the West Coast with Ricardo Luggage Giveaway
There are two things I’ve always known about the West Coast. The first that is, from the gorgeous mountains of Washington state to the pop culture and beach scene in California, the West Coast would be an ideal place to vacation.
And the second was this – the West Coast is expensive.
But we at TravelingMom believe that the best things in life are free – and they can be found everywhere, even on that pricey coast. Have doubts? Well join in on the next #TMOM Twitter party so we can change your mind! We’re sharing the fun free things we’ve found to do in Washington, Oregon and California – just in time for a late summer getaway before school starts (without dipping into the back-to-school budget!).
It’s all part of our #TMOM Twitter party and post series that focuses on one of our favorite TravelingMom sections, Free Fun Things To Do in the 50 States. Traveling with a family can be expensive – but we can show you how to make it fit your budget, by sharing the best free things there are to do from coast to coast.
What’s Fun and Free on the West Coast?
What’s free, you ask? Well in California alone you can take a guided tour of an Olympic training center near San Diego, visit the Cable Car Museum in San Francisco, and taste free Jelly Bellies on a tour of their factory in Fairfield – all for free! And they are just three examples of the numerous fun free things we found to do in California.
Headed to Oregon, but on a budget? The Portland area provides a plethora of fun free activities – if you have a calendar. The Portland Children’s Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Craft, the Historic Belmont Firehouse and the Portland Art Museum are just a few of the places that offer free days each month.
If Washington state is your goal, you can find free things to do all over the state. From Seattle to Bellingham to Bainbridge Island, there’s plenty to enjoy in all weather – without breaking the budget. And we’ll tell you about our favorites at the next #TMOM Twitter Party.
So mark your calendar for Monday, July 25. That’s when we’ll be closing up our “Free in the USA” series with a journey from California right up the coast. All free! You may even win a beautiful travel bag from Ricardo luggage. So save the date, and start your California dreaming today!
