When my family traveled to Huntsville, Alabama, we wanted to stay somewhere with enough room for the kids to move around. It also had to be comfortable enough that I didn’t have a heart attack watching over my rambunctious four year old. The Hampton Inn – Research Park did the trick quite nicely for my family of four!
During our recent stay in Huntsville, Alabama, my family wanted the perfect spot – a home away from home – to relax between our many adventures. The Hampton Inn Research Park certainly worked for us! Whether we wanted to spread out and relax, write a quick email or do homework, we found we could do it all – and comfortably – from our queen suite room.
What Works for Families
The large size of the suite was very nice for my family. We had enough room for the kids to play with the toys they brought along for the trip and a nice desk area for using the laptop or my son to do his homework.
What Doesn’t Work for Families
This location only had an outdoor pool, which isn’t a huge deal for my family. However, I have several friends that book accommodations just for the indoor pool.
Location, Location, Location!
The Hampton Inn is located in an up and coming retail area of town, with a Cabela’s within walking distance of the hotel. In fact on our first night there, my littles were so very tired that we walked over to Cabela’s and grabbed a sandwich from their deli area. Across the street from the hotel is a large shopping center with retail stores and restaurants. In fact, if I was coming back for a girls’ trip, I would choose this location because of all of the cool shops so close by! There are often lots of Hampton Inns to choose from in fantastic destinations!
As I said before our room was a great size, with a large desk area in the middle of the room. The desk separated the sleeping area of the room from the living room area. As you entered the room there was a kitchenette type area with a small sink, a large counter space, microwave and mini-fridge. Perfect for a extended stay or a family traveling with kids. The bathroom area had a large sink area just outside of the area with the tub and toilet.
The hotel staff was very friendly and eager to offer tips and suggestions for the surrounding area. In fact on our last day in town we had some time to kill before heading to the Space and Rocket Museum, so we asked for a recommendation of a nearby park. We are so glad that we asked, because we ended up at quite possibly the coolest playground ever! We even chatted about the college football games that had happened during the day while we were out and exploring.
Free Breakfast at Hampton Inn!
The hotel offered a complementary continental breakfast and it was a really nice one! My kids loved the waffle maker and topping bar and my husband and I enjoyed the freshly made oatmeal and omelets. The juice machine was a big hit with all of us!
There was complementary coffee and tea in the lobby every time that we came through that area which was especially nice since my husband was fighting a cold and enjoyed the tea.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Huntsville, Alabama and would stay there again in a heartbeat!
