Summer is here and whether you are having a staycation or taking to the road, food is an issue. As a kosher food family traveling this summer, we always need to pack our “kosher cooler” with enough food to keep us all satisfied. Most recently, we took a 14 hour roadtrip from NY to Chicago. Some of our favorite snack items; Nutella, Pretzel Crisps, Sincerely Brigitte Cheese Sticks, Larabar, water bottles, and Kedem Grape Juice. That is great for us, but what about families traveling with food allergies?
That is why I am want to share the following Blog Talk Radio interview I had last week with Sloane Miller. She is an author and licensed psychotherapeutic social worker who coaches the food allergic community and asthmatic community as well as consults food service organizations on food allergy management. Her recent book, Allergic Girl: Adventures in Living Well with Food Allergies, has some incredible information on traveling with food allergies. Listen to her great tips and more on traveling with food allergies here.
