Enjoy New Local Cuisine Without the Guilt! The temptation of tasty local cuisines or a quick meal at a fast food restaurant in the airport can make it easy to overeat while traveling. It is important to allow yourself to enjoy your meals, but do so in moderation. Here are a few tips to stay true to your healthy nutrition plan while traveling:

Indulge – Allow yourself to indulge – as long as you are healthy about it. Avoid hidden calories by drinking water, banning butter, and eating good foods in moderation.

Don’t over-indulge at the bar– Most alcoholic beverages pack about 150 to 300 calories per serving. To cut back on calories opt for a glass of wine or sip on diet cranberry juice and club soda instead of sugar –filled margaritas and exotic drinks.

Add veggies- Ask the restaurant to substitute steamed veggies for fries or other starchy sidekicks. Not only will you be eating healthier, you’ll feel less “stuffed” and ready to for the days’ activities.

Savor the flavor. Studies have shown the slower you eat, the less you eat and the more satisfied you feel.
