We were so pleasantly surprised by the Portofino Hotel and Yacht Club. It’s a comfortable but posh retreat that meets the needs of many travellers, both local and long distance. Exceptionally family friendly and with a great location close to the airport, beaches and theme parks, it’s an easy choice, though perhaps not an obvious one. We found the hotel full of Europeans and travelers who projected a worldly air of being “in the know”. No wonder they all seemed a little smug – this hotel was so comfortable that despite the proximity of all of LA’s excitement and attractions, there was almost no reason to leave.
