FTClogoI enjoy travel conferences. For many years, as a professional journalist and media person I have been an attendee at conferences like the annual ones held through North American Travel Writers Association, SATW, IFWTWA or Travel Media Showcase.

I’ve been a speaker at some, an attendee at others, and over the years, I’ve met fascinating people and connected with wonderful and exotic destinations around the world. But this year I am excited about a new adventure when I attend the Family Travel Conference in Dallas, Texas.

It’s organized by the same excellent folks who have produced the esteemed Travel Media Showcase for thirteen years, so it is certain to be a top notch event. With partners like Travelingmom, TakingtheKids, and FamilyTravelForum it’s got to be packed with “everything travel” that a TravelingMom like me needs to know.

Sponsors like Disney, Omni Hotels, and Southwest Airlines, just to name a few, promise a stellar conference.

The keys to any good travel conference are speakers, workshops and destinations. This conference will surely deliver with a dynamic lineup of impressive travel industry speakers. Workshops on branding, tweeting, equipment, and videos are only a few of those slated.

And finally, Dallas and its environs are an outstanding hub from which to host an event that’s all about travel. So many excellent destinations in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth are worthy of ink, and lots of it. Attendees will be able to enjoy one of several post trips after the conference. In fact, the area is so rich, that I will be doing another private post trip of my own even after everyone else has gone home.

Texas is one of my top three favorite states and I have been to them all, and many times over. I can’t wait to combine one of my favorite destinations with this exciting new venue. I hope to see you there!
