I love to vacation at hotels, A week of eating out at restaurants, having someone else preparing meals and cleaning them up is pure heaven. But it’s also very expensive. This summer, to cut costs, we’ll be renting a house that we can drive to.  We’ll definitely do some meals at restaurants, but the bulk of our meals will be at our rental home.

If you’ll be doing a rental this spring or summer, you may want to try a new website called I recently heard about to make your food planning a little easier. It’s called the Dinner Spin. I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds incredibly useful. The site maps out a weekly menu plan, provides a customizable shopping list, and even gives tips to minimize prep work and clean-up, so you can spend your time on the beach instead of the kitchen. Every Thursday you’ll receive an email with a list of available entrees and sides for the next week. You choose which ones you want to cook and you’ll then receive your customized shopping list. The Dinner Spin is currently offering a free 14-day trial. Memberships can be bought as 3 month incremements for $21, 6 months for $36, or 12 months for $48. This week’s recipes include Southwest Chicken and Black Beans, Crabby Swiss Casserole, BBQ Kielbasa Skillet, Hearty Beef Roast with Vegetables, Garden Stromboli and Lemon Pepper Chicken.Original Traveling Mom blog post.
