airplaneI love using the website to compare flight prices.  Although just like every other fare comparison site, it doesn’t include Southwest, I’ve found it to be the most comprehensive.  In addition, they offer a fabulous free iPad app that makes comparing airfare prices very easy. When you search on Kayak, you have the option to search based upon the number of connections you want to have, as well as take off and landing times.  So, if it doesn’t work for your family, you can skip over those early morning or late night flights.

This month, Kayak just introduced price forecasts – similar to Bing Travel.  So, now, when you search for your flights, you’ll also get a fare trend graph showing what prices for that same itinerary have done over the last 90 days as well as a tip showing whether you should buy or wait.  The fare prediction also shows the percentage confidence – so you can make a more informed decision.
