This past summer, I had the opportunity to experience four nights in Grand Cayman with my seven-year old daughter. I’ve traveled all over the world, but I have to say that with the warm water, the gorgeous beaches, and the fun activities, the Cayman Islands is one of my favorite destinations. I’m hoping that I can travel back soon to bring my husband and son also – they’ll just love it.
During our four-night trip, we stayed right on Seven Mile Beach at the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa. While I’m typically someone who prefers pools to the beach, Seven Mile Beach is a definite exception. I could easily have spent our entire trip sitting on the beach and enjoying the water. But, there are way too many activities in the Cayman Islands to just sit on the beach.
Over the course of our trip, we did lots of things, including Skateboarding, visiting the Cayman Turtle Farm, swimming in Stingray City, learning about blue iguanas, and enjoying water sports in Rum Point. My daughter also had the opportunity to participate in one of the Ambassador of the Environment Programs at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman (while I relaxed on the stretch of beach pictured here). We also enjoyed lots of great meals and some relaxing mom and daughter time. I’d definitely recommend visiting the Cayman Islands either on a Caribbean cruise or an island-specific destination.
