Traveling with your children is fabulous. Shopping with them is torturous.
At least with my children. So I wasn’t sure Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. — one of the largest malls in the U.S. — would be our kinda place to spend a long weekend.
Boy, was I wrong.
My kids and I have placed Mall of America on our “so awesome” destination list, and probably because we only shopped for a grand total of 10 minutes during our weekend visit.
When we did shop, I experienced this odd phenomenon known as “no sales tax.”
As one who lives in a 9.75% sales tax city, it was pure bliss. But so was our whole weekend in Minneapolis, which is one of those culture-filled Midwestern cities that surprises you with its hipness and family fun.
