Duh.  When I think of Costa Rica I think of iguanas, monkeys and sun.  Lots of sun.  But there is also rain – lots of rain.  Everything we did for the first 2 days at Tabacon Grand Thermal Resort was done in the rain:  wading in hot springs, swimming in pools, exploring paths to waterfalls, going to eat the best Indian food EVER at the spa restaurant.  We even shared a family spa experience in the rain  – an option that was not on the spa menu.  The master therapist, Cynthia, created it on the spot after a conversation about young people enjoying spa treatments and families needing more time together. She set up a bungalow that offered two therapy tables and an outdoor jacuzzi.  While my 10 y/o daughter got a chocolate wrap, my husband got a massage and the boys buried themselves in 2 feet of bubbles in the hot tub.  After several relaxing stress free minutes, we would rotate.  The whole family ended the experience with drinks and strawberries.  Thanks to Cynthia’s creativity and one-treatment-doesn’t-fit-all attitude, we have an experience my family will never forget.
