Hotels frequently offer package deals that offer special benefits, often with a fun and creative theme. These packages include a room as well as other amenities, all for one package price. But, are these packages a good deal, or just a way for hotels to bundle services in a creative way?
I’ve looked at hundreds of hotel packages over the years, and I’ve found that some hotel packages offer better value than others. Here are the things you should look for:
- Make sure the items included are things you’d actually pay for separately. If you are getting museum passes to a museum you don’t plan on visiting, or a free drink that you don’t plan on having, it’s probably not worth it.
- Ensure that the things you are receiving have some value. I’ve seen hotel packages that include admission to an on-site gym that all guests have access to.
- Look for free valet or self-parking, which can be a great deal for those hotels in big cities.
- Price out the room-only rates at the hotel, to make sure you really are getting a great price.
Have you booked hotel package deals? Have you found them to be worthwhile, or a waste of money?
