The Blue Star Museums initiative is back for summer 2011. Over 800 museums all over America, including many children’s museums, will be offering free admission to military members and their families. From now through Labor Day, September 5, 2011. The active duty member does not have to be present for the spouse and kids to get in free.
Here are a few of the museums I found interesting:
The Boulder City/Hoover Dam museum in Boulder City, Nevada about building the dam and the city. If you are already planning to go out and see the dam, getting in free here will be an added bonus.
The Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA is an incredible museum that I’ve been to several times. We are usually there for hours looking at 150 different kinds of air crafts. Their cafe is good too and reasonably priced.
The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY has been highly recommended to me, but I’ve never been. You can watch glass making and even learn how to make glass yourself. They also have hands on exhibits.
