Royal sisters Queen Elsa and Princess Anna, from the Disney hit animated motion picture "Frozen," join the Royal Historians of Arendelle for  a hilarious and interactive retelling of the “Frozen” story in "For the First Time in Forever – a ‘Frozen’ Sing-Along Celebration" at Disney's Hollywood Studios guests. The 30-minute show is presented multiple times daily inside Premiere Theater, inviting guests to sing along to the chart-topping soundtrack. My daughter and I recently saw the live action Cinderella movie with a preview of “Frozen Fever” and were not ready to “Let it Go”! Another log on the fire: Disney released tantalizing new details about Frozen Ever After; the new ride opening at the Norway pavilion in Epcot next year.

Thankfully, no need to wait till next year to get in on the frosty fun: Walt Disney World has lots of chilly events to warm your Frozen heart with “Frozen Summer Fun” at Hollywood Studios in Orlando. From June 17 to September 7 you’ll find Elsa, Anna, Olaf and friends bringing a bit of Arendelle to Florida.

The highlight has to be For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. Here’s where (in my family at least) we would split up and the boys would head to Indiana Jones because what self-respecting 11 year old boy (or Dad) wants to sit through a Princess show?

Big. Mistake. Unlike Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid, which are straight re-tellings of the movies, Frozen is a complete re-working of the story. It’s much more similar in tone to Festival of the Lion King but instead of shining in music and staging, Frozen is LOL funny. The “history” of Arendelle is told by two bumbling characters who often get the details wrong- such as mistaking Kristoff for Justin Bieber. I won’t ruin it for you, but will share that the adults laughed at more jokes than the kids.

And the kids?  They sang their hearts out!  The words were displayed, but weren’t needed as the entire audience belted out the hits. The ones who weren’t singing just gaped in awe that their favorite friends had come to life.

Have you visited the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration?  Did you join in?  Please share your experience in the comments.
