This is the final installment (for now) of “secret” Disney World attractions. In Parts 1 and 2 of this series I introduced you to water parks, miniature golf, the monorail, DisneyQuest, La Nouba, and Fort Wilderness. Here are a few more to round everything out:
Richard Petty Driving Experience. Driving or riding in a real NASCAR race car. My husband and my dad did this and they are still talking about it! Very fun. I’ve driven a Formula 1 car and it blew me away. I’m definitely going to try the NASCAR experience. If you like to drive fast, this is the place for you. You can do a ride-along or drive yourself behind a pace car.
DownTown Disney (DTD) has many stores, restaurants, and specialty shops. You can buy fine Disney art, treat yourself to some Ghiradelli decadence, eat at Planet Hollywood, or hit the biggest and best Disney Store on WDW property. The life-size Lego designs around the Lego store are worth the trip!
The Board Walk isn’t just a Deluxe hotel, it’s an area of Walt Disney World resort that hosts great restaurants, performers, and a piano bar. The Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk hotels are all within immediate walking distance. You can rent bicycles built for four (just get everyone to pedal). Restaurants on the Board Walk include ESPN, Spoodles (with a walk-up pizza window), and The Flying Fish (upscale dining). Jellyrolls is the adults-only, interactive piano bar and oh-so-much-fun!So the next time you’re planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, plan a little time off the beaten path. I promise it will bring a whole new dimension to your Disney Magic.
