Do you have a favorite Disney memory or moment? If you ask almost anyone who’s been to Disney they can tell you that they have a special memory from their Disney vacation. I’ve been lucky enough to make several magical memories. One of my favorites was when my son got his first hair cut at the barber shop on Main Street USA. Another favorite was on my daughter’s 5th birthday and we took her to the Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique. There she met her fairy godmother and was turned into a fairy.
Last week we made another magical memory when visited Disney for a sponsered retreat. While there we visited the newly expanded Fantasyland. We stopped by Enchanted Tales with Belle unsure of what to expect. I thought it might be a story time where Belle comes out and reads or some sort of new ride. Turns out I was wrong. It was so much more than either of those ideas.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
It would be hard to explain the entire experience, but Disney certainly raised the bar with this attraction. Disney literally puts you into a character experience like none other.
After you’ve waited outside of Belle’s cottage you are brought in to see where she lived. As you look around a Disney cast member is pointing out items in the room and explaining them. The nicest item in the room is a large mirror, which they explain was a special gift to Belle from the Beast. The mirror begins to transform and somehow turns into a secret entrance into Beasts castle. I don’t know how they did it, but it really seemed like magic.
Upon entering the castle you are greeted by the wardrobe. Yes, Madame Wardrobe talks to you just like in the movie. Again, I don’t know how they did it, but it was enchanting. The wardrobe explains that we are going to participate in acting out the story of how Belle and Beast fell in love. This is to be a special surprise for Belle. To pick guest for the parts they ask everyone to stomp their feet, growl, or do some other gesture. My 6 year old son got picked to play beast and my husband was picked to play Belle’s father. Once all the parts were assigned we were ushered into another room.
In this room everyone is greeted by Lumiere, the candlestick, and directed to sit down to watch the “performance.” We wait as Lumeire calls for Belle to come into the room. Belle and the guests that were chosen to be part of the story then proceeded to act out the story.
A Magical Memory
Watching my child act out the part of the Beast was an absolute delight. When he got to dance with Belle at the end it just melted this mama’s heart. This is my new magical memory.
