4 Disney World Luxury Experiences Turn It Up A Notch
#4 Take an Africa Trek Without a Passport
There are more and more experiences being offered at Walt Disney World. While we loved the Animal Kingdom Concierge Floor breakfast safari, the Africa Trek is perfect for tweens, teens, and adults.
This is not a sitting safari car sort of activity. It is a private 3 hour tour with a knowledgeable guide that allows you to see the animals of the Safi River Valley. It’s where the adventure literally comes to life! The guide informs you not only about the animals you are seeing, but also about the operations of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the conservation work being done. The tour will allow you to walk the grassland path, cross a rope bridge, and have the opportunity to travel across the open savanna in a safari vehicle. You will see giraffes, hippos, rhinos, and more…
The cost on top of your park admission is $189-$249/person, plus tax. The price does include a complimentary photo service, so you can relax, enjoy, and take in your surroundings and not worry about getting a photo. Someone else captures everything for you.
#3 Dine in Style at a Victoria & Albert’s Gourmet Experience
If you are looking for a true gourmet experience, dining at Victoria & Albert’s Chef’s Table at the Grand Floridian Resort has to be on your list. It’s a 3 hour dining experience that is worth every minute and every dime. Victoria & Albert’s has held a AAA Five Diamond award for the past 15 years and is considered the finest restaurant on property. The table is located in the kitchen, which makes it so unique and so fun, and features the chef’s choice of a 10- course menu.
The menu is seasonal, contemporary American and each course is carefully created for your group. You may also add the wine pairing to enjoy with each course. The table sits 10, but you can book for parties as small as 2. Reservations are definitely a must and can be made up to 180 days in advance. The Prix Fixe menu begins at $250.00/ person and wine pairing is from $150.00/ person plus tax and gratuity.
#2 Cruise in Luxury with Butlers, Yachts, and Fireworks
The Grand Yacht 1 is a beautiful 52-foot Sea Ray Sedan Bridge Yacht. Although it can hold up to 18 passengers, we highly suggest less so you can have a butler as well. Book a trip for an evening cruise to include dinner. You will cruise the Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon and see Walt Disney World from a whole different perspective. By booking an evening cruise, you can also enjoy the fireworks with the music, as it is on board as well.
If you hire a private butler to join you, they will arrange any type of food service you would like from snacks to special occasion cakes to brunch or dinner. We enjoyed a dinner and fireworks and it was wonderful.
The cost varies depending on the time you cruise, if you add a butler and food, and the time of year. Generally, booking the sailboat itself is $480/hour. Then, there is an additional cost for the Butler of $75/hour, while dinner starts at $75/person
#1 Feel Just Like a VIP
Now this certainly does not come cheap, but it is one outstanding way to do any part or all of the Disney World parks. It is a Private and VIP tour. We strongly suggest you use only the Disney branded tours, as they have services and experiences only Disney magic can deliver. The VIP tours are generally available for groups up to 10 people and can last for any amount of time you wish. The general suggested time is 6 hours.
The tours begin with a private transfer from your hotel to the park and includes a custom day based on your needs, wants, and wishes. Private tours will get you backstage entrances, VIP seating for parades and shows, and expedited entry to FastPass+. Before you even arrive in Orlando, your guide will speak with you and start planning your day.
With the Private Platinum VIP Tour, there are so many benefits and it is flexible and can be arranged for multiple days. The cost is $400-$600/ hour and is customized when you book and start the planning process. You can also book tours with guides for the thrill rides or for young children. These start at around $299/person and include lunch and are often multi-park.
Additional Ways to Add Luxury
There are so many additional ways to add luxury to your Disney World vacation. Consider some of our favorites:
- Use the Disney service or a local delivery service and have gifts arrive for your kids in the hotel room. We prefer to use the brand services available through guest services like the “In Room Celebrations”.
- If you are staying on property and on a concierge floor, you can take advantage of special benefits and experiences. Call and talk to your concierge before you arrive for special tours only available to concierge level guests.
- Reserve your pool cabanas for your stay. Don’t think about it, just do it. This will give you space outside of your room dedicated to comfort and family time.
- If you have small children and aren’t bringing a babysitter/nanny, arrange to have one available for you the whole time. This way your child(ren) will have the consistency of the same person for your stay. We just don’t like to take chances of people changing often and if everyone will be compatible. Plus, it gives the adults a vacation, too.
- Check the Disney World calendar for special events and packages, like the Epcot Food and Wine VIP Tour.
We are also thrilled about the newest addition of cocktails at the Magic Kingdom. Although not as widespread as at Epcot, you can now purchase wine and beer at certain restaurants. Although forget mimosas for breakfast as alcohol can only be purchased at lunch and dinner. So, if you need us, we’ll be at Cinderella’s Castle with a glass of champagne…
