Most of the time when you are packing for a Disney vacation, you are more concerned with what the kids have in their suitcases than what is in yours. Take the time to plan what you will wear around the parks and you’ll be glad you did. Believe it or not, you can stay comfy while still looking stylish – and you’ll have vacation photos you’re proud to show off!
It’s so easy to throw a pair of sneakers and a t-shirt into your suitcase when you’re planning a Disney vacation with the kids. But, trust me, when you look back at your pictures, you are going to regret the decision of not properly planning what you’ll wear! It is possible to be comfortable and chic while on vacation – check out some of these easy and simple options that will step up your wardrobe yet not make you feel like you fussed a lot every morning before hitting the parks.
A sun dress is the easiest thing to wear. You want to make sure that you pick something that isn’t form fitting. Believe me, no one is going to remember to suck in their gut while free falling on Space Mountain. And the tighter the clothes, the hotter you’ll be!
I love to wear one of the options in the above photo. The navy one is from Kohl’s and the middle one is from Target. I am pretty sure that every woman on the planet owns the one in the middle – at least all my friends do. I’ve packed that dress for every Disney vacation I’ve ever taken. And for under $20, you have a great look that gives off the illusion that you tried. Pair it with flip flops and you are good to go. Want to wear a bikini top underneath it for those water rides? Go for it!
When it comes to tops, think colorful and think layers. This great bright and bold piece in the above photo is from Kohl’s (I found it in the Juniors’ department). Pair it with a white tank and jean shorts. It’s still just a shirt, but the pattern and fabric steps up the look immensely! Throw on a long, thick necklace and you are done – and your vacation photos will look great.
Style up Your Shorts and Flip Flops
When you are grabbing shorts, how about choosing a nautical pattern or a quilted one from C Wonder? I would buy one of every style if I could.
While you’re at it, don’t go basic with your flip flops – get some style in whenever you can! I love the pop of orange my shoes provide (see photo, right). A burst of color in an unexpected place – that’s the way to go.
One more tip: at night it gets a little chilly. Don’t forget a summer scarf. You can grab a floral one anywhere you go; just make sure it’s lightweight and that you can wrap it around your body.
