Disney is the stuff of magic. As Traveling Moms (and dads) we know this to be true. During the holidays, Disney can be especially magical and this year Disney is letting you share in the magic, even from your own living room. For New Year’s Eve, Disney is sharing the “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks show with everyone on-site and at home. If your little ones are awake (or if you love Disney as much as we do and want to enjoy it yourself as you sip your champagne), tune in to the Disney Park Blog for a live feed of the incredible view this New Year’s Eve.
See the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Light Up the Night
The fireworks show will take place at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. At 11:50 p.m. EST the show called “Fantasy in the Sky” will be streaming on the Disney Parks Blog! 2016 will be heralded in by colors and pyrotechnics that I am envisioning will be as big as Disney itself–a not-to-be-missed delight if you aren’t out and about watching fireworks in another location live.
One of my fondest memories as a child on vacation with family is a fuzzy recollection of me and my brother floating on inflatable rafts in a Disney resort pool in the darkness as colors flickered through the cloudy sky above us, sharing the magic of the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom with us below. A filtered experience thanks to the overcast skies, yes, but magical and unforgettable all the same.
If my kids are awake on New Year’s Eve this year, we’ll be tuning in! (It would work as a great primer for sharing the news with your kids that you’ll be experiencing the Disney magic in 2016 if you have a family trip planned!)
We’ve shared with you how to have a good time ringing in the new year by venturing outdoors — we’ve even compiled a pretty great list of our favorite places to go for NYE celebrations. Now, we’d love to hear from those of you that decide to cuddle up and watch the ‘happiest place on Earth’ start a new calendar year that will hopefully be just as happy!
How will you be spending New Year’s Eve? Are you planning to tune in to the “Fantasy in the Sky” show on the Disney Parks Blog?
