If you are a seasoned cruiser, chances are you’ve tried a few different categories and now have a preference as to where you stay on the ship, but newer cruisers or ones who are heading on their first voyage tend to be confused as to which room will provide the right comfort level for their family.

Last year, my family and I embarked on a press preview of the beautiful Disney Dream and stayed in one of their Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah (Category 6). The room accommodates four comfortably thanks to the Queen-size bed, single convertible sofa, wall pull-down bed and upper berth pull-down bed (some even accommodate 5).

Measuring approximately 299 square feet (including the verandah), the stateroom provided plenty of space for our family of then 4. Two features that stood out for us and made our stay incredibly comfortable was the split bathrooms (one with a shower and a bath tub  and the other with a sink and toilet) and the private verandah.
