When do Jack Skellington, Captain Hook and other Disney villains rule Disneyland? During Halloween Time when The Happiest Place on Earth gets spookier.

Halloween Time at Disneyland begins on Friday the 13th (September 13, 2013) and runs through Halloween.  We usually try to plan our annual fall visit to coincide during the Halloween celebration.  Halloween Time includes special attractions like the Haunted Mansion Holiday with Jack Skellington and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. Plus there is the Pumpkin Festival on Main Street with hundreds of unique pumpkins and the Halloween Carnival featuring fun kids activities and Disney villains at Big Thunder Ranch.Destination Review

Last year, my family attended Mickey’s Halloween Party for the first time. Mickey’s Halloween Party is an after hours park event where the entire family can dress up and trick-or-treat at Disneyland.

We already love dressing up for Halloween as a family.  Experiencing Disneyland as the Neverland family made for an awesome and unique Disney experience. Mickey’s Halloween Party features “Mickey’s Costume Party” cavalcade, lots of special meet and greet opportunities and the “Halloween Screams” fireworks spectacular.

Mickey’s Halloween party is a perfect event for little ones, it’s not too scary and really fun to see Mickey and pals all decked out in Halloween costumes.  New this year is the “Monsters U Dance Party” at the Tomorrowland Terrace with special guests Mike aHalloween at Disneylandnd Sulley.

Tips for Visiting Disneyland at Halloween

  • Plan on arriving early, you can mingle with regular Disneyland Resort guests 3 hours prior to the start of Mickey’s Halloween Party. This is the perfect chance to grab dinner and some great pictures while there’s still daylight.
  • Don’t stop at the first trick-or-treating station unless there’s no line. There are many stations throughout the park and as you walk further into the park, you will find shorter lines. We found the trick-or-treat station near the Fantasyland Theater to be the best for us, there were no lines at all!

Mickey’s Halloween Party dates are Friday, Sept 27th; Tuesday, October 1st; Friday, October 4th; Tuesday, October 8th; Friday, October 11th; Tuesday, October 15th; Friday, October 18th; Monday October 21st; Wednesday, October 23rd; Friday, October 25th; Monday, October 28th; Wednesday, October 30th; and Thursday, October 31st.

Tickets for Mickey’s Halloween Party go on sale July 15th for the general public at the Disneyland Resort main gate or by calling 714-781-4400. Tickets are already available for purchase if you are a Disneyland Resort Annual Pass Holder, Disney Vacation Club member or Disney Visa card holder.
