Kids don’t get as impressed or pay as much attention to the things we adults do. A perfect example of that was my kids’ reaction when I showed them photos of The Breakers Palm Beach Resort. All they cared about was the pool area at the Beach Club.

During our stay, we spent plenty of time in that area of the hotel. And as much as my children enjoyed it, I learned there was a lot for adults to love at the Beach Club too!

I spent a lot of time researching and discovered that you can go to the Beach Club, lounge on the chairs, go to the restaurant and play in the pools, which sounded great. But to make your time extra special,  you can also rent private bungalows. The bungalow provides privacy, showers, couches and a place to rest. And what a difference that makes when your children are determined to spend as much time in the pools as possible.

By far, the oceanside pools were my boys’ favorite places to hang out. But the pools weren’t just randomly placed. They were split up and located at different places around the sprawling Beach Club area. There were:

– The main resort pool – Great for all ages
– An adult pool –  As amazed as we may be with our children, some adults like some “grown up time” during vacation.  I love the idea of a kid-free pool, and so did the hotel guests who were sunning around the quieter waters.
– The family area – Of course I love this one even more, especially because my little ‘angels’ are with me. The pools here are great for younger kids.

What You’ll Find at The Beach Club

There are bungalows located in front of any of the pool areas. We picked one in front of the kids pool.

Aside from the pools, the Beach Club offers a lot of open air spaces where kids can go wild, as well as organized activities for kids and families.

And of course, the beach is a major draw. Unfortunately, the day we were there it was too cold for a beach swim. But the ocean looked majestic!

Aside from having a lounge area where we could rest privately, the bungalows offer a living room and a place to have lunch, complete with wifi, flat screen TV (which we didn’t use), phones, a safe, a bathroom with showers, and a patio area.

Benefits of Renting a Beach Bungalow

But the best part by far was having a private waiter. Talk about luxury!  Playing in the pool all day can build up a great appetite. So we decided to order food. Our area had the Ocean Grill restaurant, which is perfect for a family lunch. And it was so relaxing to simply place an order and allow our private waiter to serve us in one of the small living room areas. Being away from the pool area prevented the kids from jumping in the cool blue water right after eating.

The Ocean Grill restaurant offers much more than hot dogs and burgers. I ordered the special of the day which was a Lobster Club Sandwich. I am almost sure that there were over two pounds of lobster in it, and all of it was delicious!

TravelingMom Tip: One of our favorite things to do when taking a beach vacation is to hire a photographer for family photos. This is a special gift and souvenir that we cherish. We use Flytographer to book a local photographer located in the area that we're traveling to. Use this link and you will get $25 off your photo session.

Entry to the Beach Club is included in the price of accommodations at the hotel. But, if you want to invite people over, it’s $30 per person for the day as of June, 2014.

Definitely reserve a bungalow. They only have 25 altogether and they go quickly.

Summer rates from 9-5 pm – $209 – $999 (as of June, 2014)
Winter rates from 9-5 pm – $300 – $1,899 (as of June, 2014)
