The Embassy Suites Orlando – Lake Buena Vista Resort is a long name for a really cool hotel. It has been recently redesigned into a sleek, retro-looking space without losing its comfortable, family-friendly appeal. As the ONLY Embassy Suites resort in Orlando, it offers an elevated level of elegance along with amenities that make any family, but especially big families, save money, reduce stress and have more fun!
Where to Stay in Orlando
There is no shortage of things to do in Orlando. It is one of the most exciting yet family friendly cities in the country. Yet, it can be hard on the budget, especially for big families. While there are some benefits to staying on property at the theme parks, families can save hundreds or perhaps thousands of dollars staying off-property. For a great Orlando hotel with a really good pool, you will want to check out the Embassy Suites Orlando – Lake Buena Vista Resort.
What Works for Families at Embassy Suites Orlando:
- Fantastic water play area with splash pad, indoor/outdoor pool, and daily poolside activities.
- Free (and tasty) cooked-to-order breakfast every morning
- Free snacks and drinks during the Social Hour (including alcohol) every evening
- Two-room suites to give parents and kids more space (Suites can be adjoining too for even more room.)
- Affordable prices (as low as $109/night)
What Doesn’t Work for Families at Embassy Suites Orlando:
- Not a lot of covered seating by the pool
- Pool activities seemed to be hit or miss on the weekend we visited
The suites at the Embassy Suites Orlando – Lake Buena Vista Resort are truly suites. The bedroom has a king-sized bed or two queens and there is a pull-out couch in the living room that comfortably sleeps two kids. Each room has a 32-inch flat-screen television and I was impressed that they included premium channels and several Disney channels. The small kitchenette and wet bar area are standard and very convenient. They included a microwave, small refrigerator, and an area for mixing drinks or doling out juice boxes…or both!

The best part about the dining at the Embassy Suites Orlando is the FREE dining! The cooked-to-order complimentary
breakfast was actually a breakfast I would have paid for. The omelets were delicious, though the line to order could get long. The fresh fruit was ripe and sweet and there were plenty of simple options like yogurt and cereal for my hard-to-please kids. It was great to start our day with a hearty meal.
The Cocktail Hour social was another example of the great free dining. It included snacks like popcorn, crackers, snack mix, and pretzels as well as unlimited drinks of soda, wine, beer, and mixed drinks. Be sure to bring some tip money for the bartenders. They were very nice and accommodating and didn’t blink when I came back for seconds!
If you plan to hang out at the pool for the day, be sure to check out the convenient Poolside Bar & Grille. It serves kid-friendly and wallet-friendly snacks, meals and drinks. Want to get adventurous? Try the Gator Bite Sliders!
The Embassy Suites Orlando – Lake Buena Vista redesign helped to create a chic yet homey feeling with tons of extras. Upscale upgrades were recently added including poolside fire pits (for s’mores!), a putting green, basketball courts, tennis courts, beach volleyball court, poolside spa treatments, and fishing from their own fishing dock.
Going to spend the day at the pool and water playground? Why not? Splurge on a pool cabana to use as a retreat from the sun. They are available for only $75/day and come with a flat-screen TV, table and chairs, and a refrigerator to keep your food and drinks nice and cold.
Heading to Walt Disney World? The Embassy Suites Orlando is the closest Embassy Suites to Walt Disney World (1 mile away) and offers complimentary transportation daily to EPCOT (where you can get Disney World transportation to anywhere else in the parks).
Staying off-property can save families a ton of money, especially when you factor in the benefit of a free breakfast each morning, the Happy Hour each night, and the added space and privacy a two-room suite provides. When looking for a family-friendly, comfortable yet affordable resort in Orlando, the Embassy Suites Orlando – Lake Buena Vista Resort is definitely one to check out.
