Traveling as a single parent isn’t always easy. Whether you are on your own full time or just travel alone with your kids, even the best resort vacations can be a little lonely. Our Solo Traveling Mom has some single parent all-inclusive vacation tips to make your stay at Beaches Resorts or any other all-inclusive even more enjoyable.
Single Parent All-Inclusive Vacation Tips for a Better Vacation
As a mom who travels solo with two kids, I like to try and book an all-inclusive vacation each winter. I use these trips to spend time with my kids while also trying to unwind. Our first trip to Beaches Resorts was to Beaches Turks And Caicos over 5 years ago. Since that time, I have visited each of the Beaches Resorts. The following single parent all-inclusive vacation tips apply to all of the Beaches Resorts properties and will work at most other resorts too.

Book Group Dining
One of my favorite single parent all-inclusive vacation tips is to book a few dinners at restaurants that allow you to eat with another family. Our favorite at Beaches Resorts is Kimonos, an Asian restaurant where families gather round a grill to watch chefs prepare their meal.
Not only is this a favorite because the food is delicious but the entertainment value of this restaurant ranks it high on my list. Each time we have dined at Kimonos, we have sat down with a group of strangers and left as friends. The chefs are skilled at including everyone in what really is a celebration and my kids beg to go each night. Expect to be highly entertained with some laugh out loud moments and even a few restaurant wide sing-alongs.
Find the Fun Table
Each week at Beaches Resorts, there are plenty of parties and events to attend. I learned a few years ago that instead of sitting at the less crowded tables, it made more sense to look around at which tables were having the most fun and see if there were enough seats available for me and my kids.
This year, we visited Beaches Negril and attended an incredible beach party. When we arrived, there was already a group up dancing who happened to have three extra seats open at their table. I knew that joining them meant that the kids and I would be more likely to get up and have fun than if I had to initiate as joining the party on our own. We ended up having a stellar time with the people we met.
Take some time to treat yourself. As a mother, I find I am always worried about what is best for my kids. I find that at Beaches Resorts, I know they are in extremely good hands. This is when I really treat myself.
Beaches offers a variety of incredible spa treatments and the spas are all located quite close to the kids camps and daycare. I love that I can drop them off on my way and know that if they need me, I am not too far away. I find after an hour or two of “me time” in the spa, I am refreshed and ready to hit the waterpark again with my kids.
If you do hit the spa (and you should!), stock up on Red Lane Spa products before you head home. They are a quality product at a great price.
Ask for Help
I am a pretty independent traveler and I don’t often ask for help. Even though it’s just me and the kids, I prefer that we carry our own bags and try and do most things without assistance. Still, I’ve learned that at Beaches Resorts in particular, its okay to ask for help. The staff of the resorts are always looking for ways to help and I’ve alleviated a lot of stress by letting my guard down.
This tip is key for any single parent on an all-inclusive vacation. Excursions are a great way to get out and socialize in a smaller group setting. I love heading out on a boat with my kids. It’s a great way to for us all to meet new people and gives us a break from being alone. Some of our best memories have been made on Sesame Street cruises and snorkeling trips at Beaches Resorts.
