Cape Clogs, based in Cape Cod, are made in Sweden according to a generations-old Swedish technique, using local alder wood and genuine leather uppers. But what my daughter likes best are the fun designs and grown-up feeling they give her because of the 1 3/4" heel. What I like is that they feel grown up to her without making her look too grown-up and, because they are so light (3/4lb), they travel well.
Cape Clogs look stylish with shorts, jeans and dresses and they offer a large variety of "Personality Patterns" including everything from skull and crossbones to Clogs for a Cure that sport pink ribbons and can be sold as a fundraiser. Matching pairs are also available for mom and daughter.
My daughter, now into the age of making her own fashion statements, would probably roll her eyes and tell me not to copy if I got a pair that matched hers but she might think the solid silver ones are cool. I do.
