dennisthemenaceIf you’re not familiar with them, is a company making it easy for you to find things to do on your next vacation.  Choose any US location, and narrow it down by activities, cities and/or dates, and you’re on your way to using one of the easiest planning websites out there.  Better yet, take with you by downloading their app!  It’s free, just as easy to use as their website, and great for last minute decisions while traveling.

I recently used to research things to do in the Monterey/Carmel, CA area for our summer vacation, 2012.  My family and I will finally have a chance to head back to the States, so we’re going to my old stomping grounds to visit family.  It’s always a pleasure to go and relive the fun I used to have as a kid, through the eyes of my own children.  The same wonderful sights and sounds are there, and had them all as suggestions.

A family past-time favorite is the Dennis the Menace Park.  Did you know Hank Ketchum based his cartoon off of his own 4-year old son, Dennis?  He spent his last years in Carmel…I even attended school with his son.  Dennis the Menace park has an old steam engine to climb, a swinging bridge, and the most amazing play structures.  It is an absolute must when coming the Monterey area.  I have the most amazing memories of coming to this park with my dad, and now my girlfriend and I reunite at this park with our own kids.

Of course there are other things to do like the 17 Mile Drive, Cannery Row, Monterey Bay Aquarium, even visiting Earthbound Farms!
