One of the most popular New York City museums is the American Museum of Natural History. It certainly is a favorite in our household. What I love about the museum is that there is something for everyone. Who doesn’t love wondering looking at dinosaur bones or seeing the life-like animals.
As a New Yorker I have the luxury of seeing the museum in bits and pieces. But if you are only visiting,
you’ll want to cover as much ground as possible during your stay in New York.
Now it’s whole lot easier to navigate the museum with the introduction of the American Museum of Natural History iPhone app.
And best of all it’s FREE.
Key features of the app:
Customized Tours: Before you arrive at the museum, you can plan your own customized tour based on your preferences. What better way to make the most of your trip by being able to research the museum and then customize it. Your very own personal guide. But if that seems like it’s too much work with all the other trip details, there are also pre-loaded tours for you to choose from.
GPS: If you are like me, museum maps are just plain confusing. I can never orient myself and with kids, it’s even more difficult to concentrate while staring at a map. The GPS on the iPhone pinpoints your location from which you can navigate using the digital map.
Digital Exhibits: The app comes with pre-loaded exhibits were you can learn more about select exhibitis. Just imagine actually being able to read about an exhibit instead of rushing by as your kids move onto the next thing.
Fossil Treasure Hunt: I love this feature. This is a great way to get your kids for your kids to learn and have fun at the same time.
