Whether you take girls’ getaways all the time, or this is your first trip with just the girls there are some things you should make sure are in your suitcase. You never know what you may need, but this light list will help you be prepared for all the fun going to be had!
We all get so busy with our lives – work, home, schedules, appointments, family – it’s important to make sure to take time for ourselves when we can. One of the best ways to get away is with a girls’ weekend, where you can recharge, rejuvenate and find some renewal with your best girlfriends.
The best thing about a girls’ getaway weekend is that you’re only packing for one – not the kids, not the husband — but you. So what types of outfits should you bring?
After taking several of these types of trips, we’ve got it down to a science. Here’s how to pack light, but with a plan.
5 Items to Pack for a Girls’ Weekend
1. Little Black Dress
The perfect item for dinner is a little black dress. It doesn’t matter if you go to a hole-in-the-wall or a fancy place, a LBD will have you covered. It’s classic and timeless and should really be included on every packing list!
Jeans are a necessary item to pack, preferably a dark wash, as it’s the most versatile wash and is less likely to show stains. You can wear the same pair for two days on your girls’ weekend without anyone knowing, just by changing up your tops.
3. Sweater Wrap
One of the best items to travel with all the time is a sweater wrap. You can wear a sweater wrap with any outfit AND you can tie/style wraps in over 30 different ways. I love a sweater wrap as an added layer of warmth and as a chic addition, too.
Any color tank will do — you just want to have that basic layer with you on your girls’ weekend. It’s great to wear alone or under your sweater wrap.
A blouse is a great item to have because it can dress up jeans beautifully – making deciding what to wear for dinner a breeze. If you don’t feel like wearing a dress, wear a gorgeous blouse. Choose a blouse in a eye-popping color to grab some attention.
This is all you need for a fabulous girls’ weekend away! Just relax and don’t worry about your wardrobe (or stay in sweats and jammies all weekend – you’re just hanging with the girls anyways!).
