There is nothing more fascinating than people watching, especially while traveling outside of the country amid cultures that are different.
I had an opportunity to do a lot of people watching while traveling throughout Vietnam. After a long day of sight-seeing, walking, and working off all the scrumptious food I’d consumed, sitting down for a healthy dose of rest and relaxation to a nice cold beverage at an outdoor café and watching scooters zip by carrying the most outrageous things people carry on wheels in Vietnam kept me entertained for hours.
Scooters are the main form of transportation in Vietnam and on any given day, there are approximately 5 million scooters on the road in Ho Chi Minh City, which has a population of about 9 million people.

There were times when I couldn’t get my camera out of my bag and ready in time to capture some of the wildest things these two wheelers can hold–cages of roosters, stacks of televisions sets, furniture, and a family of five. I was shocked to see kids as young as 2 placed on these scooters without a car seat or seat belt. The only thing holding them on would be a mom who was carrying a baby in the other arm.
I’ve compiled some of the photos I took in a video; hope you enjoy![youtube url=”http://youtu.be/LVaXkhJKFX0″]
