Wedged between Mother’s Day and the first day of summer, Father’s Day is a time to celebrate the men in our lives. Why not spoil dad with sports, spa treatments and amazing cuisine? It’s not too late to plan a special weekend with fun Father’s Day activities to show dad how much he’s loved and appreciated.

Father's Day activities
Indulge dad with golfing at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, or boating in Barbados.

Some men like to stay at home and relax on Father’s Day. A BBQ, maybe a bike ride, and special Father’s Day gifts are all they need for their special day. But but for those who like to get away for a day or two, surprise dad with Father’s Day activities the whole family will enjoy.

Cater to dad’s interests with activities like boating, flying, skydiving, golfing, baseball and beer tasting for a special day. But bring the kids, too, for family fun activities at a resort or in the great outdoors. Planning in advance is best, but even last minute ideas can create a perfect Father’s Day.

Father’s Day Activities for Car Buffs: Ventura, CA

A car show is among Father's Day activities in California

Take dad to see an eclectic mix of custom cars, hot rods, and classics at a Father’s Day Car Show at the beach. Father’s Day activities include vendor displays, food booths, and musical entertainment. In addition, there’s a 50/50 raffle prize, and corn-hole tournament. The car show takes place June 16 from 10 – 3 at Harbor View Park, 3600 Harbor Blvd., Oxnard.

Sports-Loving Dads: Green Bay, WI

Father's Day activities include a Lambeau Field tour in Green Bay

On Father’s Day, catch a Green Bay Booyah baseball game at Capital Credit Union Park. After the game, catch in the field is open to dads and kids. Then on June 18, fathers and their kids are welcome to attend the 2nd annual Dad’s Day Out at Lambeau Field. Sponsored by the Post Adoption Resource Center (PARC), the Lambeau tour begins promptly at 10 a.m Please arrive to the Atrium at least 15 minutes early.  After the tour, families can view the Packers Hall of Fame museum. PARC will be covering the cost of the tour and museum for everyone.

Indulge Dad with Father’s Day Activities in San Diego, CA

Father's Day activities include golfing in San Diego
A day of golf, followed by a massage and craft beer at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar is sure to make dad a happy man. Photo Credit: Fairmont Grand Del Mar

Treat dad to an unforgettable day with his favorite Father’s Day activities at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar on June 16. The pampering begins with dining at Amaya or The Clubhouse Grill. Next, he can enjoy a free round of golf at The Grand Golf Club. Afterwards, a Golf Revitalization Massage is followed by craft beer at The Spa.

Boating in Colony Club, Barbados

The Bait to Plate excursion is ideal for the dad who loves to fish and later eat the fresh catch. The hands-on culinary experience brings up to four guests out on a private boat with the hotel chef to spot marine life. Learn about reef conservation and hook the tastiest fish on the island. Back at the hotel, the chef’s team will fillet and grill the day’s local catch right at the table. It’s served Bajan style with rice, salad and plenty of pepper sauce. The resort excursion is complimentary to all guests. In addition, enjoy quality time with the whole family. The resort offers complimentary water sports as well as the seasonal Kids Korner program for ages of 3 – 12. Book now – June 30, 2019 for travel through June 1 – Oct. 22, 2019

Father’s Day Activities for Adventure-Seeking Dads

Outdoor adventures in hawaii are among Father's Day activities

Adventurous dads will go wild over the Thrillist Adventure Package at Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. Thrill-seeking Father’s Day activities include hiking rugged terrain, and riding an off-road UTV to a campfire dinner during sunset. Next,  dad can enjoy an eco-friendly marine life experience. This includes dolphin swimming, turtle and reef snorkeling, and whale watching. Cap off the day surfing with an experienced surfer.

More thrills include hang gliding off the North Shore coast. The trip culminates with an extra special activity: a helicopter ride over a 1,000-foot sacred waterfall and other sights.

Massages at Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa, FL

Pamper dad with the Men’s Sport Package. The treatments include a 50-minute deep tissue massage, a 50- minute Men’s Refinery Facial, and a MANicure & Pedicure. The package includes lunch at Sinclair’s Ocean Grill or The Sandbar. While dad’s enjoying his spa treatments, the rest of the family can soak up sunshine and play in the surf at this gorgeous resort. An overnight stay is not required for the Men’s Sport Package.

Beer Tasting in Portland, OR

Home to four of the world’s largest breweries,Portland is also a family-friendly city. And while pub hopping may not be practical with kids in tow, there are numerous restaurants where you can enjoy a good brew and a bite to eat. Mix in family fun and visit the Oregon Zoo and Portland Children’s Museum. Treat the family to a stay at the RiverPlace Hotel, situated on the banks of the Willamette River. The hotel’s King Tide Fish & Shell is a popular restaurant and a convenient place to sample brews while dining with the family.

What’s your family’s plan for Father’s Day?
