The courses are not easy but they send you out with caddies who help guide you throughout the course and attempt to keep you “out of the weeds.” We did see some fairly large alligators in the water so I recommend not going after your ball if you end up anywhere near the freshwater. It probably won’t end well and you won’t retrieve your ball anyway.
Ideal Dad Golf Resort Getaway
Streamsong is an ideal destination for a dude trip because golf is the main allure. When I was there in the summer, though, I saw plenty of couples. The ladies will find plenty to do and can occupy themselves at the spa, infinity lake-side pool, archery and clay shooting recreational attractions. If your lady is hitting the archery spot, she gets extra points a-la-Hunger Games style.
Streamsong Golf Course Facts
A word about the golf courses for the golf geeks out there:
Streamsong Red, designed by Coore & Crenshaw, is a par-72 course that plays to 7,148 yards, features striking landforms, large lakes and rolling terrain.
Streamsong Blue, designed by Renaissance Golf Design (Tom Doak), is a par-72 course that plays to 7,164 yards, features wide fairways, massive bunkers and sweeping elevation changes.
Streamsong Black, designed by Hanse Golf Design (Gil Hanse), will complement the experience of the resort’s two award-winning courses. Envisioned to offer guests a sense of peaceful isolation, it will be a standalone course featuring abundant sand – the common denominator for the world’s greatest golf courses – rolling elevation changes, native grasses and stunning views of the surrounding landscape on a grand scale. With five par-5s, Streamsong Black will be a par-73 course.
The trip out there is definitely worth it whether you’re doing a road trip from Florida or flying in. The rooftop bar has stunning views and the restaurants are superb.
