Flying to Atlantis Bahamas

If you‘re flying to The Bahamas for your Atlantis getaway, you‘ll want to fly into Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau. (NAS is the airport code.)

Once you clear customs, take a taxi from the airport to Atlantis Paradise Island. Taxi prices are regulated so you won’t be overcharged. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the resort. Bahamian taxi drivers are courteous and professional.

You also can book airport transfers through Atlantis Resort. This costs a little more but may give you peace of mind to know a ride is waiting. Some Atlantis Resort package deals include complimentary private transfers to and from the airport.

Lynden Pindling International Airport

The Nassau, Bahamas airport offers the first TSA PreCheck program outside of the United States. That program helps speed travelers through airport security screening, getting them to the gate with less hassle and no need to take off their shoes or remove large electronics from their suitcase.

It‘s also one of the select airports offering Global Entry. That’s a U.S. Customs and Border Protection program that speeds travelers through customs when they arrive at their destination.

Getting to Atlantis Resort by Ship

If you’re cruising through the Caribbean islands, a stop in The Bahamas is likely on your itinerary. After all, Nassau, the capital city of The Bahamas, is the No. 1 port of call for cruise ships.

Chances are good the ship will offer an excursion to the resort. But you also can simply disembark and hail a cab to take you to Atlantis Bahamas, which is just two miles away. Buy a day pass in advance.

You can also enter The Bahamas by private yacht, pleasure boat or fishing boat. To do that, you’ll need the following documentation:

Will I Need to Rent a Car to Visit Atlantis?

No. Getting to Atlantis Resort is easy by taxi or arranged ride from the airport or cruise port.

Exploring the island off property is also easy and affordable by taxi. Plus, you’ll save money on the resort parking fees.

You won’t need a car for getting around the huge resort property either. Atlantis operates a free shuttle service around the resort. The service, included in the daily resort fee, runs every 30 minutes. You’ll never have to stand around too long waiting for your ride. That’s a welcome relief when your exhausted kiddos are in desperate need of a nap after a long day zipping down the waterslides at the waterpark!

The shuttle will take you to and from The Reef, The Cove, The Royal, Harborside Resort, The Coral, Ocean Club and the Ocean Club Golf Course.
