3 Fun Things To Do With Kids In Branson
I have three young children and they love experiencing new places together as a family. When we travel, I research our destination ahead of time. I always want our adventures together to be memorable and as trouble-free as possible. My research revealed lots of choices and variety in the attractions available, restaurant and food options, and additional sites of interest.
If you’re looking for a destination that will allow you to focus on spending quality time with your kids while doing things they enjoy, this is a great place. Branson reminded me a lot of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, as they have similar attractions and shows. When you drive through these locations, it’s obvious that the focus is on family tourism.

Three Family-Friendly Activities in Branson
1. The Shows
Branson is known for its wide array of entertainment, including your choice of over 100 amazing shows. We found most of the hotels and restaurants in Branson had someone available to assist us in finding the best shows for our family. I recommend scheduling your shows ahead of time during peak season because the shows fill up fast.
Here are some of our favorite shows:
Legends in Concert
This tribute show was an exciting experience. It features several music legends from the past and present. I was slightly skeptical because I don’t normally get excited about watching impersonators, but I was pleased this show went above and beyond my original expectations.
The talented artists do a remarkable job at making you feel like you’re watching these legends such as Elvis, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, and many more. There are different lineups throughout the year, so be sure to check the website to see who is playing during your visit. The show is full of classic hits and a touch of humor! I wasn’t sure how entertained my 3, 5, and 7-year-old daughters would be during the show, but they loved it, They clapped throughout the entire performance. After the show, my middle daughter informed us that she is now Elvis’s biggest fan!
Acrobats of China
This is by far one of the more popular shows in Branson. I highly recommend it for any age group. This electrifying performance left us completely speechless.
The show uses Chinese culture with a modern twist to help you embark on a new experience. It’s full of talented acrobats of all ages. My family was completely awestruck from all the hoop diving, chair stacking, human juggling, and so much more! My girls were glued to every move the acrobats would make; I watched their eyes light up with each new acrobatic performance. When we left the show, it was all we could talk about for the next couple of days.
Our kids were eager to get back to the hotel to try out their own versions of these acrobatics tricks! At the end of each show, the cast lines up by the exit for you to take pictures and engage with them. I was disappointed at how many people walked out without even offering thanks for such an incredible show. We took this opportunity to teach our children the importance of showing gratitude; we stayed for a few pictures and high fives for such a memorable experience.
2. Branson Landing
Enjoy a relaxed afternoon strolling along the scenic boardwalk along the Taneycomo Lakefront located next to the historic downtown area. We spent a Sunday morning gazing out at the water, listening to birds chirp, and feeding ducks. We enjoyed shopping, eating, and watching the spectacular $7.5 million-dollar water fountain attraction!
The producers of the world-class water and fire shows at Disney marketplace in Orlando, Universal CityWalk in California, and Bellagio in Las Vegas, designed the creation here at the Branson Landing. Every hour, starting at noon, we enjoyed the fountain show: water shooting and cannons blasting, all choreographed to lights and music.
We also loved browsing through the 40,000 square-foot Ozark-themed Bass Pro Shop! My oldest daughter spent her time skipping around with pure excitement; she is a true enthusiast for outdoor adventure.
3. Silver Dollar City
The 1880’s themed park is one of the reasons Branson is great for family travelers. This is not just another theme park. We could combine a history lesson with a day full of fun. I would call that a parenting win!
Throughout the park, we were able to interact with different artisans demonstrating their trade. We saw leather working and glass cutting, among other trades. We enjoyed sitting in an old one-room schoolhouse and listening to the staff showcase different examples of what life might have been like for kids during that era. Like time travelers, we were captivated by the history coming to life all around us. We enjoyed an adventurous lunch in a covered wagon and spent the rest of the afternoon going from one thrilling ride to the next.

These three activities were perfect for our long weekend in Branson. This would be an ideal location for multigenerational travel. During our visit I noticed most of the tourist were families or groups over the age of 65.
The next time we visit we are going to explore the Marvel Caves. Check out a list of free things to do in Branson. We had a wonderful time creating memories in Missouri!
