Families can bond on the slopes for less money at Big Bear Lake, California. The family friendly ski resort has a new program that offers free lift tickets for kids 12 and under. Big Bear Lake is easily reached from Southern California and offers 2 mountains of fun: Snow Summit and Bear Mountain.
In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, there is cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
The free lift tickets come with some restrictions. You get one free lift ticket for each paid adult lift ticket. The lift tickets are good for either or both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain.
The Kids Ski/Ride for Free package must also include lodging at one of Big Bear’s participating lodges, and it is not available on the weekends or the holiday week February 16–22, 2013. Otherwise, the package is for lodging arrivals Sunday through Thursday and skiing or snowboarding Monday through Friday.
Big Bear also has a new Kids. Get Outdoors. Win. Program. Kids collect stamps in an adventure stamp passport to enter a contest for a grand prize trip for a family ski trip four to Big Bear. Other prizes include a new bike, new snowboard, zipline tickets and a season pass to Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.
