Blue Star Museums is returning this year for the 4th summer in a row to offer military families free admission to museums all across the country. Starting Memorial Day May 27, 2013 and continuing until Labor Day September 2, 2013, military can get in free to participating museums.

For 2013 there are more than 2,000 museums participating. This greatly increases your chances of finding a museum near you. Best of all there is no limit on how many museums you can visit.

To be eligible for free admission you must be active duty with proper ID. Spouses of active duty members are also eligible for free admission with ID. I have been able to visit multiple museums in the past without my active duty husband there. I’ve never had an issue. The ID holder plus 5 family members will receive free admission. Family members can be children, aunts, uncles, parents, and grandparents.

Here is just a small sample of museums that are participating this year.
