Keep Exercising, Even on the Road

There are plenty of good reasons to exercise while traveling and time away from home should not keep you away from your workouts.

Getting yourself moving, especially outdoors in the daylight, can help you get over jet lag and reset your body clock to a different time zone.

Walking is one of the great ways to check out unexplored territory and engage in cardio.

Staying active and exercising can also help you sleep better in an unfamiliar bed, and even offset some of the guilt from indulging in the local cuisine.

Although it can be difficult to find time to workout and stay faithful to a healthy diet on vacation, it’s not impossible.  One thing that’s not so easy to rationalize: the argument that it’s impossible to work out while on the road.  Today most hotels, resorts and cruise lines offer 24 hour fitness facilities and some even have cardio classes like kickboxing or spin class.

Being dedicated to your fitness goals while traveling can make the difference between gaining or losing those few pounds that have been nagging you.

Drinking plenty of water is another way to stay fit.

Beverly Caen has made health and fitness a part of her life as a mom of three and Wall Street recruiter.  Her portable workouts: Sane Fit QuickStart and Sane Fit Preggers are available on SaneFit.com.
