For those who want the best, there are some luxury Florida hotels for families just waiting for you. Whether you are visiting the north, central or south parts of the state, families can stay in an upscale hotel. From the Gulf Coast to the Atlantic Ocean to Walt Disney World’s backyard, luxurious accommodations along with the fun in the sun await. Check out three of my favorite luxury Florida hotels!
Luxury Florida hotels for families have several things in common. These hotels all have outstanding rooms that fit everyone, exceptional activities for the whole family, and fantastic extras that make you want to stay as long as you can. Plus, your family will feel welcomed and comfortable at an upscale hotel like the ones below.
3 Luxury Florida Hotels for Families
1. Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando
The Ritz-Carlton brand has some of the best luxury Florida hotels for families throughout the world. However, families are a special focus at the Orlando property. Oversized rooms, unsurpassed service by the staff, and tons of activities mean you won’t ever have to leave the resort. Be sure to check out the canoe eco-tour and mountain biking course for some added adventure.
My family and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando recently and didn’t want to leave this hotel! It is close to Walt Disney World, but the theme parks aren’t even needed when you stay here. There’s so much to do!
To really upgrade your experience at this upscale hotel, book one of the club level rooms. In addition to a larger room on a higher floor, you get access to the food and drinks in the Club Lounge, and up to five hours of supervised childcare in the Ritz Kidz Club every day for up to three children. We had at least two meals as well as snacks and drinks in the club room every day!
2. Boca Raton Resort & Club, a Waldorf-Astoria Resort
Head a few hours south to Boca Raton to experience one of the most unique luxury Florida hotels for families. The Boca Raton Resort & Club offers apartment-like accommodations in the “Bungalows” that includes tons of space, including a full kitchen and gigantic living room. You’ll have more than enough room to spread out in this upscale hotel.
The Boca Raton Resort is located about 20 minutes south of Palm Beach, and it retains all the grandeur you’d expect to find in this part of Florida. The Bungalows worked well for our family because of their gigantic size, but I’d love to come back and check out the rooms at the Beach Club Resort. I love a room overlooking the ocean!
Spend time at the Beach Club riding the waves of the warm ocean, or stick to the pool area at the Boca Raton Resort and try your hand on the FLOWRIDER, a surfing and body boarding simulator. Want some time to yourself? Sign the kids up for the free Quest Kids Camp for up to two hours per day. If you want to play tennis or golf, this resort has some of the best offerings for these sports as well.
3. Hilton Sandestin
The Hilton Sandestin is one of the best luxury Florida hotels for families situated on the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Located on Florida’s Emerald Coast, it offers everything families could need including beach and pool activities, kid’s meals at all the restaurants, and babysitting and supervised Kids Krew offerings. The Hilton Sandestin even offers rooms with a built-in bunk bed alcove, so you can give kids their own little nook and parents can get a little privacy of their own.
In addition to the upscale hotel feel, the French “lassiez les bon temps rouler” (let the good times roll) attitude filters down to Sandestin from New Orleans. The vibe is fun and relaxed but yet luxury will surround you. While this hotel is fantastic for families, it is also perfect for a romantic getaway. My husband and I visited Hilton Sandestin for a kid-free weekend and we loved every minute!
Many luxury Florida hotels may work for families, but these three are sure to be at the top of most lists….including mine!
