Everything really is awesome! There will be an impressive LEGOLAND Florida expansion coming in the next year. All LEGO brick lovers can rejoice as LEGOLAND Florida, which is located about an hour south of Orlando, recently announced the largest LEGOLAND Florida expansion in the resort’s history. The expansion is building new and exciting things to do in their theme park brick by brick. Check out what’s in store over the next year!

LEGOLAND Florida Expansion Adds Five Experiences

There are all new experiences which opened in early 2016, and more will be coming this summer at LEGOLAND Florida. There are also major new attractions which will open in 2017. Here’s a rundown of the new bricktacular news!

1. Creative Cove is Now Open at LEGOLAND Florida

For those who venture to the LEGOLAND Water Park (which is fantastic for beating the summer sun), the new Creative Cove is now open. This part of the LEGOLAND Florida expansion is where young guests can build and race their own LEGO boats. The water park is a separate admission ticket from the main LEGOLAND theme park. In addition to interactive features like Creative Cove, the water park features a wave pool, interactive play area and slides made for the entire family.

2. Two New Movies Debut in 2016

Showing now: The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure. This 12-and-a-half-minute experience brings back all your favorite The LEGO Movie characters like Emmet and Wyldstyle. The 3D animation jumps off the screen and the 4th dimension comes in with the wind, water, and fog. This all-new short is funny for both kids and adults and entertaining too!

Coming soon: NEXO Knight 4D. Get ready for an epic battle of good and evil when the characters from the LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS series take on the bad guys. This short is also 12-and-a-half minutes and is an immersive experience with 4D technology to draw the viewers into the scene.

3. LEGOLAND Night Lights coming Summer 2016

No more early closures this summer! In 2016, every weekend from June 18 to July 31, guests can enjoy a nighttime celebration. There will be LEGO characters, exclusive opportunities to build alongside LEGO Master Model Builders and a fabulous fireworks display based on the LEGO product line NINJAGO. As a result of this part of the LEGOLAND Florida expansion, now you can stay for the day…and the night!

4. LEGO NINJAGO World to Open in 2017

NINJAGO fans get ready! In early 2017, LEGOLAND Florida will debut a new immersive right based on the popular NINJAGO series. This interactive ride will let guests live their ninja LEGO fantasies. It wil include opportunities for them to blast fire, lightening and ice with their hands.

5. NEW LEGOLAND HOTEL Coming in 2017

Perhaps the most exciting part of the LEGOLAND Florida expansion is the new LEGOLAND Hotel coming next year.  Opening spring 2017, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat will have 83 single-story duplexes for guests to enjoy. It will also have a themed pool, sandy beach play area, and a new restaurant. And you can be sure that everything will be awesome.
