With the price tags of these events going up each year, you want to make smart decisions about how you spend your money. There are definitely tons of things to do in Orlando in October! Here’s what you need to know about how to have a spooky good time during Halloween at Orlando theme parks.
I’ve rated the events with a “scare level” from 1 to 5. One means it’s all in good fun with more silliness than anything scary. Five means you may be peeing in your pants and nightmares could result.
Halloween Orlando 2017 Events Not to Miss
1. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (select events)
One of my most favorite Walt Disney World experiences is when my family attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Yes, it can be costly, especially for a big family, but it is definitely a memory-making type of event. There are not-so-spooky Halloween parades, special fireworks shows, and of course trick-or-treating. Plus, the kids get to wear costumes, (just nothing scary please) at this Halloween Orlando 2017 event. Read Do It All TravelingMom, Lisa O’Driscoll’s, article for 7 ‘spooktacular’ reasons to visit Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Scare Level: 1
2. LEGOLAND Resort Orlando Brick or Treat (select dates)
Halloween at Orlando theme parks is about to get pretty bricktastic! LEGOLAND Florida Resort has brought back their Halloween party they built just for kids. Brick or Treat returns to LEGOLAND Florida Resort on select dates in October. It features a LEGO lineup of slightly spooky, “brick-tacular” activities. They even are offering extended park hours. Brick or Treat is included with park admission, so no extra ticket is required. If you have kids 12 and under, this event is one of the most fun things to do in Orlando in October. Amy Abler, Inquisitive TravelingMom, says there are more laughs than screams at Brick or Treat. Scare Level: 1
2. SeaWorld Spooktacular (Weekends through 10/29)
SeaWorld is one of the most entertaining experiences any time of year. However, the SeaWorld Spooktacular is one of the most unique of all the Orlando Halloween events. Their annual Halloween Spooktacular event includes trick-or-treating (with treats your kids will love), special meet and greets, and live shows featuring Sesame Street’s Count Von Count and Elmo. To get the most of your SeaWorld Spooktacular experience, Lisa O’Driscoll, Do It All TravelingMom, says you have to get their early if you want to avoid the crowds. Read her article for all nine of her tips. Scare Level: 1
3. Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights (Now – 11/4)
Looking for a good old-fashioned scare? Want to scream until your throat is sore night? Have kids who are older or who love thrillers and things that go bump in the night? This is the Halloween Orlando 2017 event for you!
Halloween at Orlando theme parks is usually pretty tame but not at Universal Orlando! This is definitely the scariest of all Halloween events. They didn’t put horror in the title on accident. Universal Studios Florida comes alive with mutants, monsters and maniacs (oh my!). They have nine terrifying haunted houses, five creature-filled scare zones, and two outrageous live shows. Be sure to also check out the rest of the park’s most exciting rides and attractions says Jennifer Auer, Exploring Experiences TravelingMom. Scare Level: 5
